This is Pierre. We had taken a trap up to Peterson-Super-Ely to catch a particular cat who we had been told about. Usually cats find being inside a trap quite a horrible experience - they are merrily on their way somewhere, smell some tasty food, go to get it and then bang, a door goes down behind them and they are stuck inside with no way to get out. All cats find the experience at the very least a bit unsettling. Not Pierre. We weren't looking for him but evidently he was looking for us. He happily walked into the trap, ate the food inside and then settled down, quite calmly, to wait for us to come back and check the traps and pick him up. It was as if he knew that what the trap was and that it belonged to some kind rescue people! So he obviously is intelligent and doesn't panic easily!

From the front, Pierre looks like a short haired cat but is actually more of a fluffy; he isn't quite long haired but when you stroke him and see his magnificent tail, you'll see what we mean. He is a very handsome big boy (pretty heavy to pick up and bear in mind that he is currently underweight!) but is a complete softy. He is very easy-going and loves cuddles.

Pierre has obviously been dumped - the area we found him in is not one that he could have wandered to by himself and we have picked up other cats from the same place before. He has been living rough for a while - he's a bit underweight (he's a bit too slim at the back end) and his coat, although pretty glossy already, will definitely get better with a few weeks of good food and grooming.

Pierre is a young lad - not quite fully adult - and so will probably also be pretty playful. He has a lovely temperament and is looking for a person or family to give him a loving home. He will need a commitment to being groomed regularly to keep his coat in tip top condition.

If you would like to adopt Pierre, please read our adoption policy and then get in touch to arrange an appointment.
