Meet Mittens and her tiny Glovelettes!
Mittens came to SHUA in mid June. When we picked her up, she was actually still in labour! She has 3 beautiful kittens, collectively known as the Glovelettes.
Mittens is a juvenile herself, at barely 8 months old. This is her first litter. She was obviously someone's pet but they did not have her spayed. She either got lost or was abandoned - either way she ended up pregnant and in need of help! She had no collar and no microchip and despite advertising, noone has come forward for her.
Despite being so young, Mittens is an excellent Mum. She loves her babies and keeps them clean and well-fed. When her babies have grown up a bit, Mittens would love a home where she can re-discover her own kittenhood. She should be tearing about the place, playing and exploring outside rather than having such a serious job to do!
Mittens will be nursing her kittens for at least 3 weeks before she would be able to go to a home - but you would be welcome to come and meet her. The 3 kittens will be ready to view after their 7 week health check, which will be towards the end of the first week of August. We rehome kittens at approx 8-9 weeks, depending on how big, strong and confident they are, based on advice given by our vet for each individual kitten.
If you are thinking of adopting Mittens and / or her kitten(s), then please get in touch.
