This is Flumpy (white & tabby) and his brother Duddy (white & black). They came to SHUA last September. They were found on Lombard Street in Barry with their Mum and 4 sisters (1 from the same litter, 3 from a much younger litter), living rough. This is the same area that we rescued Domino-Balls, Derek, Doris & co from a few years ago - behind Domino's Pizza. Flumpy & Duddy & their sisters & Mum were all absolutely petrified when they arrived at SHUA. They had all spent many months outside with little to no human contact. It was incredibly scary for them.

Flumpy & Duddy have always been together. These guys love each other so much that we could not possibly think of separating them. Not only do they look to each other for reassurance, but they pretty much hang out together all of the time too. They explore together, play together, eat together & usually curl up to sleep together. It's really very sweet!

Flumpy & Duddy are both very gentle, well-mannered boys. They have never shown any aggression to any of us - they simply don't have it in them. Their only crime is that find new people & new places a bit scary - but once they get to know you a little better they soon come out of their shells. Even in their first few weeks at SHUA when they were wide-eyed and would hiss in fear, they would let you give them a fuss & promptly relax & purr. After an initial period at SHUA, we managed to place Flumpy and Duddy with one of our foster mums, Bethany. Now that they are finally ready for rehoming, they are with another of our foster mums, Linda.

They are both very talkative boys, chirruping with delightful anticipation at supper-time (which is handy in case you should forget!) and with joy when it is playtime. They love to play games with humans but are more than content to wrestle with & chase each other if you don't have time. They turn into big kittens at play-time - gleefully throwing around a toy mouse or ball. Duddy will even chase his tail round and round in a circle!

Once they settle into their surroundings they both become quite inquisitive - checking out every nook and cranny in the house (picture bottom-right: nope that is most definitely not a Duddy & a Flumpy caught on camera on top of the washing machine, exploring the bookshelf behind...) & then following you around, supervising whatever you are doing. (picture above-left: Duddy waits patiently by the computer monitor for Bethany to finish googling & give him some attention instead)

They both love a good cwtch. When they want attention they will happily come and ask for it. Duddy loves a good scratch on his head & ears but his absolute favourite is when you scratch his lower back, near his tail. But be warned - if you do this then you unleash the inner-tart in Duddy - he promptly tips his head upside down as he rolls over onto his back to offer you his tummy. And when he wants more cuddles he will affectionately head-butt you! Flumpy also love cuddles but is just a bit more forgetful than his brother with asking for attention. He needs someone who doesn't mind reminding him a lot! Once you start cuddling him though, he soon remembers what it's all about. Flumpy loves a good scratch on his head, neck & chin and will also happily roll over for a tummy-tickle.

Like many adult cats, Duddy & Flumpy also like their space (together, of course!). This is a good thing - it means that you don't have to feel guilty about leaving them during the day when you go out to work!

Duddy & Flumpy are very loving, playful, gentle boys. They are looking for an extra special family who understands that they might take a little longer than more confident cats to settle into their new home. They may hide under the bed or be too scared to eat for the first few days. But if you give them lots of patience & gentle encouragement, they will come around. And once they do, you will have two of the most loyal, loving friends anyone could wish for.
