Cristil was rescued from Ely in the last week of June, with her four 4-week old kittens.

She had had a REALLY tough time and it took a long time for us to gain her trust. She was obviously someone's pet at some point but had been very badly traumatised - neglected, chased and abused for most of her life.

Just look at that beautiful face. How can anyone treat animals so badly? Poor Crystal had not been spayed and got pregnant. Her next problem was how to look after her kittens as well as fend for herself. She coped by scavenging in bins and literally eating rubbish. Her gorgeous long coat was terribly matted and patches of fur were missing - probably getting snagged and ripped along the way. But her spirit was strong and she did a fantastic job keeping her kittens alive for those first 4 weeks without any help.

After she had settled in at SHUA and after her own babies had been rehomed, she took on another litter for us, washing, cleaning and cuddling them just as lovingly as she had her own kittens. She is such a gentle and unassuming little cat. She needs a very special home - with someone who is very kind, very patient and most of all, experienced. Once you gain her trust, she will pay you back tenfold and become your best friend.
