Can-Can came from a colony of cats and kittens that we called 'The Cozy-Wannabes' (in the second picture above, some of 'The Cozy-Wannabes', clockwise from left: Can-Can, Coney-Bear and Cozy). We got a call from a lady living in Pendoylan to say that two adult cats and six white & black kittens had recently appeared on the land near her farmhouse. SHUA stepped in and caught all of the cats and kittens. We neutered and returned the two adult (feral) cats along with one of the kittens who was also too feral to be tamed.

The other five kittens were taken into the shelter and worked with intensively. We don't know how they all ended up at a farmhouse in Pendoylan, but they were all so traumatised when we picked them up that we suspect they had been rounded up, slung into boxes and dumped there.

Can-Can was pregnant when she came to SHUA. Tragically, due to the trauma that she had suffered, she miscarried and none of her babies survived.

It has taken many months of love, kindness and interaction to persuade these young cats that humans really are ok and we feel that they are finally ready for homing. Can-Can is a fabulous young lady and is incredibly forward with all the volunteers at the shelter; she is one of the first to greet you when you enter the room with her tail proudly in the air and she just loves a good fuss. She is sometimes a little bit reserved with new people at first, but soon settles down and relaxes - after all, another person equals more fusses for Can-Can! Can-Can is still a youngster by cat standards and still enjoys a good play like any self-respecting young kit-cat.

Can-Can is now approx. 2 years old. Would you like to adopt Can-Can? If so, please read our adoption policy and then get in touch to arrange an appointment.
