Gift Aid Scheme which allows SHUA to get an extra 28 pence on every pound you donate from the Inland Revenue Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. This means that £10 can be turned into £12.80, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn't cost you a thing. So if you want your donation to go further, Gift Aid it. It's that simple.

If donating online, just tick 'Yes' in the relevant box on the Make A Donation page. If donating by cheque, postal order or standing order, download a form to send to us.

You must pay an amount of Income Tax and / or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that SHUA reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year (currently 28p for each £1 you give).

Please note:

  • You can cancel this Declaration at any time by notifying SHUA.
  • If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that SHUA reclaims, you can cancel your declaration.
  • If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.
  • If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, contact us. Alternatively, you can check for yourself on the HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) website.
  • Please notify SHUA if you change your name or address.
