Pollyanna

Polly came to Jacqui and Kay long before they set up SHUA and was the first kitten they ever hand-reared. The field next to where Jacqui was working was about to be torn up by bulldozers. They knew that there were badgers and rabbits and feral cats living in the field and so set to work very quickly trying to catch and relocate all the animals that they could find. They managed to save a lot of rabbits but sadly weren't able to catch any of the badgers and only one feral kitten. Raising Polly taught Jacqui and Kay how to care for kittens. She was so very tiny when they rescued her that she could only have milk and so they fed her formula through a latex glove with a hole in it (because this is what they had seen on a programme on TV!).

Pollyanna as a baby Pollyanna as a baby

Polly used to travel everywhere with Jacqui & Kay and is the longest standing resident at SHUA. Of all the cats at SHUA, Polly has the highest level of security clearance - she can go pretty much wherever she chooses, much to the dismay of some of the other cats!

Polly is a typical tortie - absolutely beautiful with definite cattitude. She is very aloof and only allows cuddles when she chooses and on her terms. She is a very vocal cat and there is still not a lot that Polly won't do for a saucer of milk!
