Mr Deli came to SHUA in 2004. He was very old and in a very poor condition. We didn't think that he would live very long but, like with so many cats who come here, it's amazing what a bit of tlc, food and a warm bed can do! Mr Deli soon found a healthy appetite and became quite mobile for a senior citizen. He loved exploring and particularly enjoyed all of the attention from his adoring public on one of our Open Day Weekends. He started to take pride in his appearance and even started grooming himself.
Mr Deli moved in with our other "Golden Oldies" in the conservatory and lived happily at SHUA for just over a year. He passed away in December 2005 and is missed by us all. Such a sweet old boy.
Mr Deli was one of many elderly cats who come to SHUA after being abandoned by their owners. We will never understand how anyone can have a pet for 10 + years and then turf them out when their bodies are frail and their health is failing. We do the very best that we can for these cats and they have all the creature comforts here at SHUA - but it doesn't compare to having a home and family to themselves.
